Sunday July 12, 2026, 9-11am SHARE. Lets support Cary’s food recovery program, SHARE, by Toward Zero Waste to capture wholesome leftovers from some Wake County elementary school cafeteria meals and feed students, NOT landfills. Our club will sponsor a "Cart Building Party" to build SHARE Collection and Pantry Carts, and to affix signage to the carts. Volunteers will be providing basic construction tasks. The workspace is outside but covered so dress appropriately. Family and friends are welcome. Our “party” will be in the Lochmere subdivision.
How does the SHARE program work?
Students can leave and/or take approved unwanted and unopened foods during breakfast and lunch service. Leftover items are transferred to a centrally located pantry cart and refrigerator, for easy access throughout the week. Don't trash it, SHARE it! Sign up here: SHARE
